WOODSTOCK — Crews from several towns Wednesday night were battling a house fire on Gore Road.

The fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m. and early reports were that the two-and-a-half story house was fully engulfed by flames.

Woodstock crews called for help from Greenwood, Bethel, Newry and other towns as they prepared to attack the flames shooting from the backside of the home.

It was not immediately known whether the house was occupied when it went up in flames. An official at the Woodstock fire station said he did not believe anyone was injured.

By 11 p.m., additional crews, including Rumford and West Paris, had joined the fire fighting effort.

Gore Road is off Route 26 near North Pond.
