1932 – 2015
LEWISTON — Carolyn E. Clark, 82, of Lewiston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, at her home in Lewiston with her family by her side.
She was born in Brewer on Oct. 11, 1932, the daughter of Ray and Jessie (Small) Anderson. She attended local schools and graduated from Deering High School in the Class of 1951. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Auburn.
She married her husband of 57 years, Alfred “Joe” Clark Jr., in 1951 and together they raised their family.
She enjoyed camping at the Hemlocks Campground in Poland for more than 30 years with her family and friends. She was frequently found knitting dish clothes, and playing cards with her sisters and cooking for them. It was always a pleasure for her to have company at her home.
Carolyn enjoyed dancing, but most of all, she loved having her grandkids spend the night at her home and comb her hair. She was also a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by a son, John and his wife, Louise Clark, of Poland; two daughters, Sharon and David St. Germain of Auburn, and Jo-Lynn Starks of Auburn; three brothers, Ray “Dutchy” and his wife, Lorraine, of Turner, Dr. Calvin and his wife, Lorraine, of Ohio, and Dennis and his wife, Tina, of South Paris; two sisters, Myrna and her husband, Dick Demers, of Lewiston, and Jeanine Clark of Poland; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband; a son, Alan Clark; and two sisters.
