DIXFIELD — The Board of Selectmen will vote Monday on whether to approve the final drafts of two ordinances that will go before voters June 10.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Ludden Memorial Library.
Town Manager Carlo Puiia said selectmen will vote on the Wind Energy Recall Ordinance and the Recall of Elected Municipal Officers Ordinance.
Residents originally approved an ordinance in November 2012 to regulate wind development. At the beginning of 2013, selectmen voted to have the Planning Board strengthen the regulations.
The Planning Board brought its recommendations to selectmen, who made revisions and put it on the November 2014 ballot. The article called for repealing the original ordinance and adopting the amended version.
Voters rejected the revised law by a vote of 553-567.
The board voted Feb. 9 to take the Planning Board’s original draft and put it before the voters.
The board has been reviewing the recall ordinances of other towns in the area since August 2014, and has been attempting to draft its own recall ordinance.
Several minor amendments have been made to the draft of the ordinance, including changing the required signatures on a recall petition from 20 percent of the number of votes cast in the last gubernatorial election to 15 percent.
The selectmen will also schedule public hearings for several proposed ordinances.
