EAST WILTON — Fenwick Fowler, executive director of Western Maine Community Action, has announced his retirement, effective July 1.
Norman Croteau, WMCA board of directors president, praised Fowler for his 40 years of service at WMCA.
Western Maine Community Action celebrates 50 years of service to Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties with services that include Women, Infants and Children, CareerCenters employment and training, LIHEAP fuel assistance, weatherization and home repair.
WMCA’s recent activities have helped thousands to sign up for the Affordable Care Act’s marketplace health insurance.
Another WMCA priority has been helping seniors repair their homes to maintain their independence. That work has been innovative and essential to Maine’s aging population.
