1942 – 2015
FARMINGTON — Roger L. Laperle, 72, of Morrison Hill Road, Farmington passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, Jan. 3.
He was born in Rumford on Nov. 28, 1942, a son of Alva and Mary (Gagnon) Laperle, and was educated in Rumford schools. He graduated from Stephens High School with the Class of 1960 and then attended St. Francis College in Biddeford.
Roger served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1965 as a crash rescue fireman, stationed in Langley, Va., and Kunsan, Korea.
He married to Eileen Donahue on Jan. 19, 1963.
Roger was a self-employed, general contractor in Farmington after moving there in 1972.
He was a member of the Farmington Lions Club during the 1970s and early 1980s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling in his younger years.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor with a ready supply of jokes to share with all his contacts.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen S. Laperle of Farmington; a daughter, Elizabeth L. McFarland and husband, Truax, of Jefferson; a sister, Doreen Gallant and husband, Jim, of New Gloucester; a brother, Larry Laperle and companion, Ann Welch, of Rumford and Florida; a grandson, Conor McFarland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
