SOUTH PORTLAND (AP) — A Massachusetts man wanted in connection with a pair of bank robberies in the Bay State has been captured in Maine.
South Portland police say they caught 25-year-old Michael Vangpa on Saturday.
The Lowell, Massachusetts, man is suspected of robbing a Bank of America branch in Lowell on Dec. 13 and a TD Bank branch in the city the next day.
In both, the robber claimed to have a gun, although no weapon was shown.
Vangpa is being held at Cumberland County Jail pending his arraignment in Maine on a fugitive from justice charge. It’s unclear when he will be returned to Massachusetts.
