SCARBOROUGH – In support of the release of their new CD, “Eyes to the Sun”, Maine band Sparks The Rescue will perform at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 5 at the Scarborough Bull Moose store, 456 Payne Road, the day of the CD’s national release. The acoustic performance is free and open to the public, and the band will be available to sign copies of the new CD.
One of the top selling local bands at Bull Moose, Sparks The Rescue is a five-piece pop rock band from Portland. After the local popularity of their 2007 EP “The Secrets We Can’t Keep,” STR was signed by California-based independent label Fearless Records. “Eyes To The Sun”, STR’s first full-length album, is also their first to be distributed nationally.
Sparks The Rescue is comprised of Alex Roy (vocals), Patrick O’Connell (guitar), Toby McAllister (guitar), Ben Briggs (bass), and Nathan Spencer (drums). The band members all started performing while still in high school, and have been playing music for nearly a decade. Together they have logged over 200 live shows in New England alone. Their CD release will be followed by an east coast tour in support of “Eyes To The Sun” throughout May.
