BOLSTERS MILLS — There will be a 3-T Harvest Fest auction at Bolster’s Mills United Methodist Church starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, Bolster’s Mills Road.
A free meal of beans, hot dogs, cole slaw and bread will be served. The auction will begin at 6 p.m.
The items to be auctioned off will consist of “Talents,” “Treats” and “Treasures,” with an emphasis on a Fall theme. Some of the items being auctioned off are Fall harvest items, pickles, a Thanksgiving basket, cookies, cakes and whoopie pies, etc.
All proceeds will benefit Papa’s Boots, a local mission set up in the memory of Bruno Leino of Harrison who passed away 4 years ago.
The mission is associated with Bolster’s Mills United Methodist Church and Deering Memorial United Methodist Church.
Leino’s grandchildren started this project in his honor. They remember he would always say, as he looked at a Christmas tree full of presents, “look at all these presents we have when there are many children going without winter boots.”
Since 2011, Papa’s Boots has donated hundreds of new pairs of winter boots for children in need in Harrison, South Paris and other nonprofit organizations that serve people in need.
Papa’s Boots has partnered with Lamey-Wellehan in Auburn to help make this mission possible. For more information, or to make a donation, call A.J. Alexander at 461-3093.
