Eric Brakey is opposing John Cleveland for a Maine Senate seat. Brakey grew up out-of-state and has a degree in theater performance. His job is financial record manager for his family’s business, Brakey Energy, which only operates in Ohio.
He directed Ron Paul’s Maine presidential campaign. According to The Nation, “ In a Ron Paul America, there would be no environmental protection, no Social Security, no Medicaid or Medicare, no help for the poor, no public education, no civil rights laws, no anti-discrimination law, no Americans With Disabilities Act, no laws ensuring the safety of food or drugs or consumer products, no workers’ rights.”
Brakey opposes raising the minimum wage and wants to eliminate “excess regulations,” code for letting businesses pollute the air and water, sell unsafe products and exploit workers.
Eric Brakey lacks real work experience and does not represent most Maine people’s beliefs and values.
