Magical, mystical event Saturday

AUBURN — A Holistic Mystic Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Auburn Fireside Inn, 177 Washington St. South.

Participants will be able to meet with a psychic medium, have a massage, get advice from non-traditional healers and talk with Spiritualists, shamans, clairvoyants and palm, tarot and other card readers.

An animal communicator will be available to reveal your beloved pet’s inner life. Bring a picture or description of the pet.

Come learn about Reiki, and your chakra; visit artists and craftsmen with new age items, Native American work, metaphysical supplies, divination tools, gems, stones, oils and herbs and much more.

Entrance fee is $5. Individual services will be priced separately.

Kundalini yoga at YWCA

LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will offer Kundalini yoga, “the yoga of awareness,” on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:15 p.m. beginning Oct. 2.

This class is relatively new to the western hemisphere and is designed to open the heart, build strength and release the energy located at the base of the spine. Kundalini focuses on breath, movement and challenges its students both physically and mentally. It is known for being one of the more spiritual styles of yoga.

Classes will be instructed by Claudette Lyons-Daigle. Claudette is a certified Kundalini and meditation instructor.

She has worked as a substitute Kundalini teacher at Chill Yoga in Lewiston since receiving her certification in 2013.

Preregistration is not required. Class participants may purchase a yoga punch card (10 classes) for $75 for YWCA members, $90 for nonmembers. Drop in rates are also available: $8 for YWCA members, $10 for nonmembers.

Great Falls lecture on classical music

LEWISTON — The Great Falls Forum lecture series will present Andrew Cyr, conductor, Metropolis Ensemble, speaking on “Renewing the Source: a New Model for Classical Music,” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.

Poland Historical Society open house

POLAND — Poland Historical Society will hold a open house to all members and friends of the organization at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct 2.

A pot luck supper will be offered. Those wishing to attend the supper should bring a dish to share.

The annual meeting will take place shortly after the supper. Many subjects will be discussed.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Sept. 18 were: first, Sandy Verrill and Don Oliver; second, Cecile Bussiere and Dennis Gosselin; third, Joan Pettengill and Terry Lowell; fourth, Gene Brown and Ed Madden; fifth, Roger Charpentier and Stan Tetenman.
