Auburn Middle School Hockey Club

All Auburn hockey players in the fifth thru eighth grades are invited to tryout for the Auburn Middle School Hockey Club. Teams will participate in the SMMSHL. Players will be rated and placed on teams based on ability. We anticipate that we will have a girl only team and two co-ed teams.

Tryouts for the 2014-2015 Auburn Middle School Hockey Club will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m. at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.

All players will participate in the 5 p.m. tryout. The cost is $15 per player and a current copy of the USA hockey IMR form is required to tryout. If you plan on playing but are unable to attend the tryout, please contact Denis Berube at (207) 689-5518 or email dnberube@roadrunner.com.

Hall of Fame Scholarship Drive

SOUTH PORTLAND — Golfers are invited to play in the inaugural Maine Sports Hall of Fame Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 15 at Sable Oaks Golf Club in South Portland.

Entry fee is $125 per person/$400 per foursome for the 18-hole scramble.

Proceeds benefit the Maine Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund; each year, the hall awards five graduating high school student-athletes with a $5,000 college scholarship.

Fenn-Ross Cup

You are invited to participate in the annual Fenn-Ross Cup Heritage Scramble at Poland Spring Resort on Thursday, Sept. 4 to benefit the Poland Spring Preservation Society.

Registration is at 8 a.m. and the golf tournament begins at 9 a.m. light There will be snacks, a reception at the Maine Inn tht includes dinner and one complimentary beer or glass of wine, tournament awards, prizes and raffle presentation. Volleyball meeting

The Lewiston Department of Recreation Adult Co-ed B Volleyball League and the women’s, men’s, and co-ed A’s Volleyball Leagues will be holding their organizational meeting Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave, Lewiston. The Leagues are comprised of Co-Ed divisions A, B, and women’s and men’s divisions. Anyone interested in entering a team, or would like to participate as a player in one of the leagues, should attend the meeting on Sept. 11. All divisions in the league are accepting teams and players.
