Gov. Paul LePage tells it like it is. He isn’t fancy, sometimes a little rough, but people know where he stands and there are good reasons why he makes decisions on issues.
One problem in understanding his actions is that his opponents’ objections are sensationalized in newspaper headlines. Sometimes buried in the last part of the article are LePage’s sensible reasons for his actions. Most people don’t read the entire article.
Gov. LePage is a straight shooter who doesn’t play political games. His record of accomplishments includes paying debts he inherited from the careless Democratic administrations, reducing taxes to the lower income citizens, reforming the welfare program and promoting jobs growth. He has encouraged natural gas and hydropower projects.
He has needed to remind the Democrats that bonding is borrowing long-term expensive money (future generations will pay for them).
Maine must live within its means.
