ROXBURY — A fully involved vehicle fire was quickly knocked down Wednesday afternoon on Roxbury Road, Roxbury fire Chief Ray Carver said.

Firefighters from both Mexico and Roxbury fire departments were dispatched at 2:14 p.m. to the residence of Dale Hodgkins after receiving a report of a fully involved vehicle fire.

Carver said that the vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, was parked in Hodgkin’s driveway and was not running.

“He told us that his daughter had used the vehicle an hour earlier and that no one had used the vehicle since then,” Carver said.

The fire was knocked down within 10 minutes, Carver said.

As of Wednesday evening, Carver said that there was no cause determined for the fire.

Although the fire completely destroyed the vehicle, Carver said that Hodgkins had liability insurance on it.
