FARMINGTON — An Avon man was indicted Monday on drug trafficking charges from an April bust at which hundreds of prescription pills, marijuana and $144,008 were seized.
A Franklin County grand jury indicted Daryl “Poochie” Searles, 56, of 148 Avon Valley Road on three counts of felony aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and criminal forfeiture of property.
Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Maine State Police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency were involved in the arrest April 18. An investigation had been ongoing for months, Franklin County Scott Nichols Sr. said at the time.
Police confiscated 442 pills, which represented nine different prescription drugs, including oxycodone and hydrocodone; 2.1 pounds of marijuana; and seven firearms, including rifles, shotguns and handguns.
Searles, a lifelong resident of the Phillips area, was released from jail on April 19 on $2,000 cash bail.
