BATH (AP) — A Bath man has been charged with abusing his infant son.

Police on Thursday arrested 24-year-old Brandon Ross and charged him with six counts of aggravated assault, three counts of assault and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police began investigating in April when the 8-week-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Medical staff informed state child welfare officials, who contacted police.

Authorities did not disclose the nature of the injuries. The child is now in the care of relatives.

Ross remains in jail on $25,000 bail pending a court appearance Friday, and it was not clear of he had hired a lawyer.
