POLAND — Delaney Woodford of Minot, a senior at Poland Regional High School, has been selected to receive the 2014 Principal’s Award, Principal Cari Medd has announced.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Delaney has continued in the tradition of strong leadership as a member of our student representative body and as a long-time member of the student judiciary board,” said Medd. “Her strength of character, active citizenship and devotion to her school community have made PRHS a better school. She has taken full advantage of the academic opportunities this school, and the colleges around us, offer.”

Woodford, Medd and other award winners and their principals attended an Honors Luncheon in Bangor on April 5, when plaques and scholarships were awarded.
