Primary elections will happen soon (June 10). I hope people will take the time to vote.

Sometimes it is difficult to decide who to vote for within a single party, as both candidates follow an individual’s values and principles.

I will be voting for Emily Cain to be the Democratic candidate for District II. She has proven to be a fighter for the issues I care about:

— Issues that concern women — equal pay, the glass ceiling, freedom to choose, protecting domestic violence victims;

— The environment is extremely important with many issues that need to be addressed; and current laws must be enforced in order to save this planet;

— Clean and renewable energy is an essential part of that effort;

— A living wage and closing the cooperate tax loopholes are also needed to promote fairness and help lower the national debt.
