MEXICO — A Mexico man was arrested Saturday after dispatchers in Paris received a call for help from a female officer and sent several officers to her assistance.
Rodney Daoust, 56, was still being booked into Oxford County Jail in Paris on Saturday evening on charges of disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, criminal threatening and assault, a jail official said. Bail had yet to be set.
At 5 p.m., the Mexico officer responded to a dispatcher’s question, saying while out of breath, “Male trying to fight an officer.”
The dispatcher radioed that information to local police, telling them the officer needed help at or near 253 Highland Terrace. Three Rumford officers, Dixfield police Lt. Jeffrey Howe and Oxford County Cpl. George Cayer responded, arriving in less than five minutes.
Rumford Cpl. Lawrence Winson radioed the Paris dispatcher at 5:05 p.m. that he had fired a Taser at one person. Med-Care Ambulance of Mexico was called to the scene two minutes later.
Further information was not available late Saturday.
