Climate crisis film screening
AUBURN — A free screening of “Years of Living Dangerously” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, will offer the first episode of this series which tells the story of the climate crisis.
The show was produced by James Cameron (“Avatar,” “Titanic”), with help from some big stars (Harrison Ford, Don Cheadle). All nine episodes will air on Showtime.

Supper, dance for Michelle Lemieux
AUBURN — A benefit supper and dance for Michelle Lemieux will take place Saturday, April 19, at New Auburn Social Club, 7 Second St.
A spaghetti dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5. Children are welcome from 5 to 7 p.m.
The dance will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight. Music will be provided by the L-A Harley Band.
There will be raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
Smoking will not be allowed in the building.
Michelle is a mother and wife, and is the daughter of Bobby and Vicki Lussier. She was diagnosed with two types of breast cancer in December. Proceeds will help with medical costs.

Seniors plan open house luncheon
LISBON FALLS — Sunshine Hill Seniors will hold an open house luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 25, at MTM Community Center, 18 School St.
It is open to the public for those 60ish and older. There will be a buffet lunch available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on April 10 were: first, Cecile Bussiere and Vicki Thayer-Adams; second, Linda Dostie-Scott and Edith Chambers; third, Claudette Grandmaison and Mike Martin; fourth, Norm Bissonnette and Roger Charpentier; fifth, Richard Champagne and Gene Brown.

America’s Boating Course April 26
AUBURN — Kennebec River Sail & Power Squadron is offering America’s Boating Course to the public. It will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays beginning April 26, at St. Michael’s Church, 78 Pleasant St. Instructor will be Paul Dupuis.
The course will cover required safety equipment, going boating, anchoring, knots and lines, rules of the “road,” VHF marine radio communications, navigational aids, adverse conditions, state and federal boating regulations, trailering and personal water craft operations.
By law, young adults 16 to 18 years old are required to complete this course to legally operate a PWC on any Maine waterways.
Cost is $75, which includes text book, charts, all materials, dividers and plotter, state and federal rules and certificate of completion. Special family rates are available.

Fire Aux. indoor garage sale
BOWDOIN — The Town of Bowdoin Women’s Fire Auxiliary will hold an indoor garage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Fire Department garage on Cornish Drive, next to the Town Office.
Also included in this event are a bake sale and a raffle with prizes. Tickets will be on sale at the event.

Steamed hot dogs will be on sale.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of an imaging camera for the Bowdoin Volunteer Fire Dept.
4-H compost fundraiser April 26
LISBON FALLS — A compost sale dubbed Doo-Doo Drive Thru will be held Saturday, April 26, sponsored by the 4-H Leaders’ Association of the Androscoggin-Sagadahoc Counties 4-H Clubs.
The sale opens at 9 a.m. at Justalittle Farm, 58 Ridge Road. The seasoned compost, aged three years, was a project of area 4-Hers. Cost is $5 per cubic-foot bag; truckloads are available for $35 dollars per tractor scoop.
Proceeds benefit Androscoggin-Sagadahoc Counties 4-H scholarships, camps and programs, including national educational trips for youth.

LITCHFIELD — Down East Country Music Association will present a Country Sunday Show & Dance from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Litchfield Sportsman Club, Hallowell Road.
