POLAND — A driver with two passengers lost control of a vehicle that went into a pond early Saturday night. Luckily none of the occupants were injured, said Androscoggin County Sgt. Tim Kachnovich.
The vehicle, driven by Marissa Gammon, 17, was headed north on Range Hill Road at 12:21 a.m. Saturday, where the road travels near a causeway. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and stopped partway in the water, Kachnovich said.
“It wasn’t submerged,” he said. “Nobody was injured.”
Rain, poor visibility and road conditions likely contributed to the crash, police said. There are hills and curves on the road.
The vehicle was towed out by Win’s Towing. Poland Fire and Rescue provided assistance at the scene.
