‘Living with Hope’ for cancer patients
LEWISTON — “Living with Hope,” a four-week series for people living with advanced cancer, will be offered during April at the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing.
Dempsey Center Psychosocial Services Coordinator Kerry Irish will facilitate the new program, developed for people living with advanced cancer. Irish, a licensed clinical social worker, has 19 years of experience serving those living with cancer, as well as their families and loved ones.
“Living with Hope” is designed for people living with metastatic and/or advanced cancer. Through discussion and guided exercises, participants will “have the opportunity to explore ways to cope with the challenges of living with advanced illness and to continue to find meaning and hope,” said Irish.
The sessions will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Mondays, beginning April 7, at the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, 29 Lowell St. (fifth floor). To register, call 795-8250 or 1-877-336-7287 or register online at www.dempseycenter.org.
