RANGELEY — State fire investigators are looking for any information people may have pertaining to an intentionally set fire at a two-story log house on Furbish Road on Jan. 16, state fire investigator Sgt. Joel Davis said Monday.

The house and contents were destroyed in the fire.

The fire began in the basement and was attributed to arson, Davis of the Office of the State Fire Marshal said in January.

“We don’t think it was a random act. We think the property was targeted specifically,” Davis previously said.

The house was a vacation home for owners Bruce and Julie Walbridge of Stow, Mass., Rangeley fire Chief Tim Pellerin previously said. The couple drove up from Massachusetts when they were notified of the fire.

Anyone who may have information on the fire is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Office at 207-626-3870 or the anonymous tip line at 888-870-6162, Davis said.

About 35 firefighters from five towns responded to the fire, which was reported by a passer-by at 7:06 a.m. Jan. 16. The house was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
