PORTLAND (AP) — Police said a 74-year-old man struck by a car while out walking in Portland last weekend has died.

Elliot Burton died Tuesday at Maine Medical Center from injuries sustained when he was struck at about 6:40 p.m. on Forest Avenue.

Burton was struck by a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old Falmouth woman.

Police said the death remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.

Investigators said speed and alcohol have been ruled out as possible factors.
