WOODSTOCK — Woodstock Seventh-day Adventist Church is very active with many musicians and a large congregation. Sabbath School starts at 9:15 a.m.

The church offers five different classes for the kids aging from birth through teenagers with very passionate teachers. An adult class is held at the same time in the sanctuary of the church with caring teachers also.

Following class is the 11 a.m. church service with the pastor, Greg Carlson.

The church is now in a brand-new building right next to where the old one was. The new building is all on one level and also houses the new Forestdale Christian School with the new teacher, Elizabeth Somers, who is a former student. Somers is the principal and also teaches grades 1-8. If your child could benefit from more one-on-one instruction in a Christian atmosphere, call 674-2934.

The church also hosts the Woodstock Whitetail Pathfinder Club, which is similar to Girl and Boy Scout groups, with many fun activities throughout the year, involving kids and adults alike. Activities include camping, games and more. There is also a similar club for the younger children. These are known as the Woodstock Adventurers.

The church has a kitchen included. Each division is all on one floor which makes it easily wheelchair accessible. Members prepare and serve once-a-month dinners after church. There are also talent shows, luncheons, special occasions and more.

At the far end of the church building is another huge room which houses the food pantry. This ministry and service to the community is overseen by Faye Taylor. Her number is 393-7458. The current monthly distribution time is the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 1 p.m. What an outreach this is with many people coming in to get food.
