Danville Grange to meet Feb. 13
AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. An agricultural program will be presented by the lecturer.
Special guests will be Agnes and Robert Nelson, directors of the Agricultural Committee of the Maine State Grange.
Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
90-minute yoga workshop
LEWISTON — Certified yoga instructor Marcy Covey will lead a 90-minute yoga workshop from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day at the CMMC Health and Fitness Center, 12 High St.
There will be a small fee for participation. Registration is required by calling 795-2473.
“Love Starts Within” is the theme of this gentle yoga workshop led by certified yoga instructor Marcy Covey.
Sons of the American Legion supper
SABATTUS — The Sons of the American Legion will hold a potluck supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the American Legion Harry J. Conway Post 135 at 40 Island Road.
The supper is open to the community. It will help support the activities of the SAL in the local community.
Christian Skate Night is Feb. 16
TOPSHAM — Grace Community Chapel in West Gardiner will hold a Christian Skate Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Topsham Roller World, 20 Atwood Drive. Doors open at 5:45.
Weather date is Monday, Feb. 17.
Cost of $5 includes regular skates; in-line skates are $2 extra.

Farmers’ Market has tropical theme
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Winter Farmers’ Market will hold the Tropics in February Market from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center at 208 Bates St.
There will be soothing island music, fruity drinks and spicy enticing food at the cafe. Visitors who wear a Hawaiian-style shirt will get a dollar off any purchase.

LEWISTON — The Great Falls Forum lecture series will present Bates College Geology Professor Mike Retelle, speaking on “Monitoring Glaciers in a Changing Arctic Climate,” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.

Poker Run set for Feb. 22
SABATTUS — In partnership with area snowmobile clubs, Community Credit Union of Lewiston is hosting a Community Poker Run in the Androscoggin County area to raise funds for Maine Credit Union’s Campaign for Ending Hunger.
It will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, starting at Glen Dube Excavation, 118 Littlefield Road.

The cost is $25 for non-snowmobile club members and $20 for members and includes a poker hand, a beans and franks dinner and fireworks show.
A Poker Run requires participants to travel (typically by snowmobile but for this event any mode of transportation is allowed) to local businesses that are noted as “Poker Stops” to get their card stamped then based on the number of stops visited the participant is dealt a poker hand at the event site in Sabattus. A cash prize of $1,000 will go to the winner.
For those that want to support the cause by just attending the dinner and fireworks show, there will be a cost of $5 per person.
Knights holding basketball throw
AUBURN — The Holy Cross Knights of Columbus Council 12,652 are inviting all boys and girls ages 9-14 to participate in a Basketball Free Throw Championship Competition on Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Dom’s Academy Auburn Campus. This event is free of charge.
Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. Proof of age is required at time registration, no exceptions. Competition will run from 9 to 11 a.m.
