RUMFORD — A bike trail mapping session canceled because of Wednesday’s snowstorm has been rescheduled to Feb. 12, Barbara Rajaniemi of the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition said.

It will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 302 at Mountain Valley High School.

Participants will be asked to help identify common bike routes as well as key destinations, amenities and sections of road that need safety improvements.

All information will be used to create two maps. One showing popular and safe routes in the region, and the other showing where signs and road improvements are needed to make bike riding safer.

The mapping sessions are part of Oxford County Moves, which is led by Healthy Oxford Hills, a project of Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

Brandon Schauffler, the active community environment coordinator for Healthy Oxford Hills, said in an email Thursday morning that those who cannot make it to the Feb. 12 session are welcome to attend a similar one from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in the River Room of the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry.

For more information, call Schauffler at 890-6323 or the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition at 364-7408.
