JAY — The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Valentine dinner and dance Feb. 15 as a fundraiser for Operation Uplink.
The national VFW program provides phone cards to deployed military personnel to help them stay in touch with family. It also provides cards to hospitalized veterans, according to a release.
The dinner is at 6 p.m. at the VFW Post at 64 Jewell St. in Jay.
The cost is $20 a person for a prime rib dinner with all the trimmings prepared by the auxiliary and served by members of the post and Men’s Auxiliary. There will be dancing after the meal with music by the Campground Band.
Operation Uplink has always been supported and sustained solely by donations, the majority of them from VFW and Ladies Auxiliary members.
Tickets are sold in advance and may be purchased at the post hall from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from noon to 10 p.m. Friday.
For more information, call the post at 897-5112 or Lynn Dunton at 897-2640.
