AUBURN — Carol A. Sweatt, 80, of Peru passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with her girls by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Rumford on May 21, 1936, a daughter of Willard and Geraldine (Farrar) Donahue.

Carol was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1954.

For the past 41 years, she has worked as a legal secretary for the law office of David W. Austin.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Provencher of Peru; three sisters, Joanne Womack of Texas, Eileen LaPerle of Farmington and Gail Pepin and husband, Gerald, of Bath; two granddaughters, Jessica Naples of Rumford and Kayla Provencher of Peru; two great-grandsons, Blake Bordeau and Bradley Bordeau; her beloved dog, Ike; and her cats, Angus and Jezzabelle.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Dale.
