Greetings friends,

On behalf of everyone associated with the Lewiston-Auburn hockey community, the city of Auburn, Norway Savings Bank, our teams – players, coaches, families – our sponsors, and our fans, I would like to say how proud we are to have accomplished the fulfillment of a vision for how to celebrate the Twin Cities’ deep roots in the sport we love.

We are proud to be an important new force for economic vitality in the community, as well; to be a state-of-the-art destination for youth hockey fans from throughout New England and to solidify L-A’s well-earned reputation as a premier hockey town.

There are so many people and organizations who deserve thanks for their efforts toward helping us get to where we are, including the hundreds of employees of Hebert Construction and some two dozen construction contractors who have created this magnificent facility; the thousands of kids who have already taken to our ice; our landlord, George Schott, for enabling the project to move forward; and the people and government of the city of Auburn, including Mayor Jonathan Labonte, the city council, and city manager, Clint Deschene and the entire city staff.

And, of course, we are grateful to our friends at Norway Savings Bank, who share our commitment to the community and who recognize the enormous value and potential of being so prominently identified as champions of the sport and of their investment in the future of hockey in L-A.

The spectacular collaboration of so many people has made it possible for the most versatile, modern and user-friendly dedicated hockey facility in Maine to have gone from first shovel to first skate in under half a year.

Those efforts have been rewarded by continuous activity both on and off the ice, by the fact that our neighbors in the retail district of Auburn have both welcomed us graciously and been the immediate beneficiaries of our presence here, and by the interest we’ve already attracted from those intending to host major tournaments here, and others interested in the non-ice potential of this great facility, as well.

We look forward to being good neighbors and part of the bedrock of L-A for generations to come.

Sincerely,

Josh MacDonald

General Manager
