PORTLAND — State police say a Trooper was slightly injured Friday morning when her cruiser was struck on Interstate 295.

Trooper Jessica Shorey was treated and released from Maine Medical Center for neck and back pain.

She was in her cruiser parked in the southbound breakdown lane just south of Tukey’s Bridge where two other cars had slid off the interstate. Another car struck Shorey’s cruiser from behind when it lost control.

There were reports of light snow and ice on area roads.

One southbound lane of the interstate remained open, but traffic was backed up into Falmouth.
