Lewiston Youth Baseball & Softball Clinics

The Lewiston Youth Baseball and Softball winter and spring clinic series are designed to help youth players improve their game. Players from all local communities are welcome to attend. The clinics will be directed by Lewiston varsity baseball coach Dave Jordan. Staff may include members of the Lewiston High School baseball and softball coaching staffs, other local area coaches/instructors and college baseball players.

Our goal is to assist each player on improving his/her skills in a supportive, instructive and fun learning environment. Each session consists of instruction, skills, and drills on the fundamentals of the clinic topic areas.

Three clinic series will be offered including the following:

1. Throwing/Pitching Clinics: Emphasis on proper overhand throwing technique and warmingup the arm/body for the season. “Pitching Wins Championships!” (space is limited to 20 participants per age group). Dates: Jan. 12, 19; Feb. 2, 9. Times: Grades 3-4: 1 p.m to 2:15 p.m.; Grades 5-6: 2:15 p.m.to 3:30 p.m.; Grades 7-8: 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

2. Spring Training Clinics: Improve your game by working on the fundamentals of hitting technique, fielding skills, and throwing mechanics leading up to your season. “Learn the details to become a more Complete Player!” Dates: Feb. 23; March 2, 9, 16, 23. Times: Grades 3-4: 9 a.m. to 0:30 a.m.; Grades 5-6: 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.; Grades 7-8: 12 pm to 1:30 p.m.

3. Hitting Clinics: Gain additional practice, repetitions and hitting technique details to improve your ability to make solid contact at the plate. Improve your ability to “Square up the Ball!” Dates: March 30; April 6, 13. Times: Grades 3-4: 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.; Grades 5-6: 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Grades 7-8: 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
