I can sand my own driveway, if I want to. During the recent ice storm, I noticed Auburn Public Works trucks out on the roads, sanding and salting, only to return hours later with plows down removing the sand from the roads (and into my driveway).

Now, I would like to think that was an act of Auburn concerning my safety, but I am thinking it is more of a problem of department mismanagement and a waste of taxpayers’ money.

I also prefer not to sand my driveway.
