DIXFIELD — The RSU 10 board approved a new board meeting brochure that outlines the procedure for public participation Monday.
The new brochure, soon to be available to the public at board meetings as well as at several local businesses, outlines expected public behavior and the procedure for getting an item on the board’s agenda. It also includes information on the placement of agendas, which include in each school and the town office of each member town, the duties of the board and superintendent, and a listing of board members.
According to an associated adopted policy, those wishing to add an agenda item must notify the district’s business office six days prior to a scheduled meeting. The decision whether to include the item lies with the superintendent and board chairperson.
Also at this week’s meeting, the board approved social worker Jessica Swan reducing her work week from five days to three so she can complete a doctoral program. The district will advertise for a two-day per week social worker.
In other matters, Superintendent Craig King said district nutrition director Jeanne LaPointe was honored by the state for providing a successful 5-2-1-0 Let’s Go healthy food program in many of the district’s schools.

* Learned that Sumner residents voted down a proposal to begin procedures for the possible withdrawal from RSU 10.
* Learned that latest about a meeting of King and business manager Mary Dailey and the Byron Board of Selectmen on that town’s steps toward possibly leaving RSU 10.
