Livermore Falls native Kevin Kezal’s Golden Trojans have been as resilient as any team in the state, as the Scots can attest from a 30-21 loss Oct. 19 loss in Saco. The Scots are hoping the defense that shut out Scarborough in the semifinals has another dominating performance in store.

Class A East

No. 2 Portland (8-1) at No. 1 Cheverus (9-0)

Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

Stags have won six in a row over the Bulldogs, including the 35-25 season-opener. Bulldogs can’t count on the five turnovers they forced to blow out Windham last week, so the defense will have to be physically prepared to grind it out with Jon Wolfgram’s ground game and Portland will need another big day from Justin Zukowski.

Class B West

No. 3 Marshwood (8-2) at No. 1 Kennebunk (10-0)

Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

Rams won Week 4 meeting, 21-14 and have their field goal kicker, Jake Lary, to thank for surviving the semifinal against Westbrook. Hawks went to York and steamrolled a red-hot Wildcats team that had beaten them two weeks earlier.

Class B East

No. 2 Cony (7-2) at No. 1 Brunswick (7-2)

Friday, 7 p.m.

If you’re looking for a good old-fashioned defensive standoff, best look elsewhere. These two teams combined for 92 points when they met in Week 3, with the Dragons winning by 16.

Class C West

No. 3 Spruce Mountain (8-2) at No. 1 Leavitt (9-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

No better way to cap off the first year of what should evolve into a great rivalry. Winning their semifinal in Wells showed the young Phoenix are ready for prime time at Libby Field. Hornets continued to show they are supremely motivated, deep and talented by taking Cape Elizabeth’s best shot and still winning by two touchdowns.

Class C East

No. 2 Waterville (8-1) at No. 1 Winslow (8-1)

Saturday, 1 p.m.

It will be tough for them to match the latest Battle of the Bridge, a 25-21 Purple Panthers win three weeks ago in Waterville. But if any rivalry has the pedigree to write another classic chapter, this is it.

Class D West

No. 4 Dirigo (7-3) at Oak Hill (8-2)

Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

We defy you to find a more physical game this weekend. The inevitable collisions between Dirigo’s Tyler Frost and Oak Hill’s Luke Washburn alone will have seismologists on alert up and down the East Coast.

Class D East

No. 3 Mattanawcook (9-1) at No. 1 Bucksport (9-0)

Saturday, 1 p.m.

Bucks lived on the edge to defeat Orono last week. Lynx had an easier time with MCI thanks to the three touchdown passes from Trysten Pelkey to Gunner Maxwell. Bucks handed the Lynx a 25-6 defeat in the season finale.
