Auburn’s Washburn Elementary School teacher Stephanie Smith, U.S. Cellular store manager Aaron Ouellette and Washburn teacher Jen Springer celebrate a donation made by U.S. Cellular’s Calling All Teachers campaign. More than 20 teachers in Androscoggin County recently received a donation of $11,749 from U.S. Cellular through the national campaign to distribute $500,000 to teachers. The money will be used for classroom projects. The schools involved were: Sherwood Heights Elementary School, Washburn Elementary School and Fairview Elementary School in Auburn; Leeds Central School in Leeds; Raymond A. Geiger Elementary School, Farwell Elementary School, Thomas J. McMahon Elementary School, and Gov. James B. Longley Elementary School in Lewiston; Minot Consolidated School; Poland Community School; and Sabattus Primary School.
