BRUNSWICK — Brunswick police are searching for a man and woman who allegedly robbed the Big Apple on Pleasant Street at gunpoint Friday night.

Brunswick police officers and a Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit responded at approximately 8:43 p.m. to the Big Apple at 111 Pleasant St. for a report of an armed robbery, according to press release from Lt. Lynne Doucette.

Two suspects, a man and a woman, allegedly entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash.

The clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects also allegedly attempted to rob a female customer, but were apparently scared off before obtaining any money from her, according to the release.

The man is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 240 to 260 pounds, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with three stripes down the sleeves, black pants and white sneakers. He also wore a bandana covering his face.

The woman is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 220 to 240 pounds, and was wearing a red hooded winter coat, bare legs and white sneakers. She also wore a bandana over her face.

Police believe both suspects are white.

No further information was immediately available.
