1942 – 2013
The Rev. Lucille Jean Brown Richard, 71, of Bridgton, died Friday, Oct. 18, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn after a long illness. She was surrounded by family.
Lucille was born on Aug. 27, 1942, in Cambridge, Mass. She graduated from Lawrence High School in Massachusetts.
Later in life, Lucille earned a Master of Divinity from Boston University. She was ordained as a United Methodist Pastor in 1988 and served as a pastor in several congregations throughout New Hampshire and Maine over the past 25 years. She was also an active member of the Tres Dias Community in Maine.
Lucille loved to spend time at Salisbury Beach in Massachusetts and enjoyed the company of her dogs, Max and Kiera. She had a passion and talent for both painting and writing.
She leaves behind four daughters, Kathleen (Griffith) Michaels of Norway, Heather (Griffith) Chandel and husband, Tom, of Bridgton, April (Brown) Cook of Manchester, N.H., and Marina Brown of Derry, N.H. She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren, Kirsten, Justin, Aaron, Jeremy, Zachary, Kayla, David, Holly, Joshua and Russell; as well as her best friend of 55 years, Patricia Manning of Conway, N.H.
