Procter & Gamble Co. employees from the Tambrands plant in Auburn recently volunteered at a school pantry distribution at Edward Little High School in Auburn. At the event, Good Shepherd Food Bank received $20,000 from Procter & Gamble for expansion of its child hunger programs. Front row, kneeling, from left, were: Tambrands volunteers Marcial Machado, Norm Parker and Rick Neiley. Back row, standing, from left: Tambrands volunteers Kelly Horne, Tyson Machado, Mark Foster, Pam Foster, John Bateman, Edward Little Vice Principal Steve Galway, Tambrands Human Resources Manager Rick Malinowski, Food Bank Child Hunger Program Manager Shannon Coffin, Child Hunger Corps member Samantha Culver, and Food Bank Communication Manager Clara Whitney. Good Shepherd will use the $20,000 award to build the organization’s capacity to offer child hunger programs, expand current programs to new sites throughout Maine and to ensure program sites have adequate capacity to operate sustainably.
