HERMON — A Hampden woman was injured Saturday after her car, crossed the Interstate 95 median and both northbound lanes before crashing into rock ledge at mile marker 181.

Linda Bryant, 66, lost control of her 1998 Subaru driving south on I-95 at about 10:30 a.m. after a medical episode, according to Maine State Trooper Chris Hashey.

“It’s lucky she didn’t hit any vehicles as she crossed the northbound lanes,” he said.

Bryant, who was alone in the car, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, the trooper said.

She was wearing a seat belt and the air bags in her vehicle deployed, according to Hashey.

One of the northbound lanes on the interstate was closed for about 30 minutes after the crash.
