Bert Gosselin, left, of Lewiston accepts a donation Thursday from Larry Duguay as Gosselin says “thank you” to motorists who have donated to Gosselin’s Dempsey Challenge team. Gosselin has stood at the intersection of Main and Bates streets every Friday since April to collect money for “Richard’s Army,” a team that will participate in this weekend’s Dempsey Challenge in memory of Gosselin’s brother-in-law, Richard Dulac, who passed away in January from melanoma. Gosselin collected more than $3,800 at the intersection and raised a total of $16,150 for the center. “The people at the Dempsey Center are like family to me,” he said. “Now it is my time to give back.”
