Maine’s credit unions have the largest surcharge-free ATM network in the state. With nearly 230 locations throughout Maine, you’re bound to catch a glimpse of SURF Dude, the mascot of Maine credit unions’ SURF ATM Network, just about wherever you go. And with two new credit unions recently coming on to the network, the convenience only continues to grow.
When you see SURF Dude, you know that your ATM experience will be pleasantly fee-free. Credit union members can save at least an average of $300 a year on surcharge fees when using the SURF network — the largest ATM network in the state.
With the SURF network, “no fees” means just that — not only will you see no fees at your ATM, there are no hidden fees anywhere else. In addition, a number of SURF ATM locations give thousands of Maine credit union members the ability to not only access cash but to also make deposits, surcharge-free.
Formed in 1999, over 90 percent of Maine’s credit unions now participate in the SURF ATM network through the Maine Credit Union League.
“The continued growth of the SURF ATM Network is further evidence of the value that comes when credit unions work together to bring the largest, most convenient ATM Network in Maine to the 630,000 credit union members in our state,” John Murphy, president of the Maine Credit Union League, said.
