BATH — Bath Iron Works is getting a new president.
The shipbuilder’s parent company, General Dynamics, announced Wednesday that BIW’s current president, Jeffrey Geiger, will become president of its Electric Boat submarine company in Groton, Conn. He’ll replace Kevin Poitras, who’s retiring.
The appointment is effective Nov. 4.
General Dynamics says Frederick Harris will become BIW’s next president while also remaining as president of NASSCO, its ship construction and repair yard in San Diego.
Geiger joined BIW in 1984 and became president in 2009.
