UPDATE: Police arrest three suspects in Poland home invasion 

POLAND — The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Lewiston man Tuesday on charges stemming from a home invasion on Julie Street early Saturday morning.

Corey Brume, 20, was arrested at his Elm Street home on charges of theft and violating conditions of release, police said.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating Devin Charest, 22, of Auburn, who is wanted on a probation hold and for questioning in the attack.

Police say two men entered the home of Ronald St. Pierre, 71, of 21 Julie St. through a window at about 5 a.m. while St. Pierre was asleep. St. Pierre grabbed his handgun and tried to fight off the men, and the gun went off but apparently no one was shot. The victim was overpowered and the intruders took off with a loaded, silver .44 Magnum revolver with a long barrel, clothes, drugs and other items, police said.

On Wednesday, Brume was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $50,000 cash bail. 

Charest is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and with blue eyes and brown hair. He has multiple tattoos on his arms and hands. Anyone who has information on Charest’s whereabouts is asked to call the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department at 207-753-2599.

Both men have criminal histories in the Lewiston area, including arrests on charges of burglary, robbery and assault. In March 2011, they were arrested together following a high-speed chase that spanned several towns.

A year later, in May 2012, they were arrested following a fight in Auburn. Both men were charged with robbery, assault and burglary in that case.
