- State Rep. Paul Gilbert, D-Jay, center, presents George “Eddie” Black, right, and Lyle LaPlante, left, both of Jay, legislative sentiments Monday night for their service to the Jay Fire Rescue Department. They have served nearly 100 years between them. The presentation occurred during a firefighter recognition night at the Jay Fire Station in North Jay. Town Manager Ruth Cushman, Board of Selectpersons Chairman Steve McCourt and Public Safety Chief Larry White Sr. commended the firefighters for all they do to help protect residents and their property.
