1941 – 2013
DEXTER — Camille Raymond, 72, of Dover-Foxcroft, loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, died Thursday, Aug. 8, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Dexter.
He was born on March 1, 1941, in Winterville, the youngest of 11 children of Joseph Jr., and Laura (Gagnon) Raymond. A graduate of Guilford High School, Camille served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at Pride Manufacturing/Sports in Burnham for almost 40 years.
Camille was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Dover-Foxcroft, where he served as a Eucharist minister for many years. He was active with the social coffee hour after Mass and enjoyed ministering communion to shut-ins in the church community.
He is survived by six children, Jody Raymond and his wife, Aimee, and their children, Maxwell and Marguerite, all of Orrington; Amy Carsten and her husband, Randolph, of West Farmington; Alan Raymond and his wife, Margo, and their children, Karina, Rachael and Felicia, all of Waterboro; Chad Raymond of Dover-Foxcroft; Wendy Westgate and her husband, Robert, Robert’s son, Zachary, and their future child, Mary Linda, all of Lewiston; and Carol Raymond of Dover-Foxcroft. He also leaves a brother, William Raymond of Michigan; a sister, Dottie Dean and her husband, Robert, of Brooksville, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by his cat, Kit-Kat.
Camille was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Stone) Raymond; and a grandson, Zachary Carsten.
