NORWAY — Larry Glatz will present a program titled “Files of Dreams” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Norway Historical Society, 471 Main St.

Glatz will describe the many and remarkable resources available at the Registry of Deeds. Beyond simple land records, the documents tell stories of the individuals and families who first settled the area. The resources provide a wealth of information about local communities and institutions – both old and new.

Perhaps most interestingly, they detail the hopes and aspirations of generations of people who tied their fortunes to the land of western Maine. The talk will be illustrated from Glatz’s recently published book, “Oxford County in Deed: People and Places of Early Oxford County, Maine.” Copies will be available for purchase at the program.
