LEWISTON — Androscoggin Habitat for Humanity presented its 2013 volunteer and corporate sponsor of the year awards at its annual meeting last May.

Receiving the award for Volunteer of the Year  were Paul and Sally Belisle of Lewiston. The couple joined the Androscoggin Habitat Board of Directors in 1989 and have individually served as president, vice president and treasurer on the executive committee of the board of directors, and have chaired or been committee members on almost all of the organization’s committees.

In 1995 they took a brief absence from the board, continuing to volunteer at various events and builds, only to return as board members a couple of years later. They have also been one of the driving forces behind the St. Philip’s annual Breakfast for Habitat for many years.

This couple not only donates their time and finances to the Androscoggin affiliate, they also spend time volunteering at Habitat International in Americus, Ga., working with the Women’s Build Program and in other capacities.

Receiving the award for Corporate Sponsor of the Year was Uncle Andy’s Digest.

Uncle Andy’s has been a sponsor of the organization’s golf tournament since 2008 and has had a team play at the tournament for the past few years.
