AUBURN — Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is making final preparations for the fifth annual Butterfly Release Celebration, to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Hospice House, 236 Stetson Road.

The event is a unique opportunity to remember and honor loved ones by dedicating a butterfly in their memory. Guests will share stories, enjoy music and light refreshments with the highlight of the celebration being a mass release of hundreds of butterflies. The event is free to attend and open to the public. Butterfly dedications are $25 per butterfly, one name per butterfly. No previous association with AHCH or the Hospice House is necessary.

The purchase of a butterfly dedication includes the release of a butterfly with the names of those being honored read aloud at the event as well as listed in the program booklet. The event will be recorded and available to view online at www.ahch.org for those who are unable to attend. There will also be a raffle table and crafts for children to enjoy the day of the event.

Butterfly dedications can be purchased online at www.ahch.org. Paper dedication forms are available at the Hospice House on Stetson Road in Auburn, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice’s Lewiston Office on Strawberry Avenue, Bangor Savings Bank locations and Bedard Medical Supplies on Minot Avenue in Auburn. Proceeds benefit patient care and family support services at AHCH’s Hospice House. The rain date is Sunday, July 21, and will be posted on the AHCH website in case of inclement weather.
