Merry Plinksters at Society meet

NEW VINEYARD — The Merry Plinksters, a well-practiced band of enthusiastic ukulele players, will lead a sing-along at the next New Vineyard Historical Society meeting.

The society will convene at Smith Hall on Main Street at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, for a potluck supper.

The president, Sherwood W. Anderson, will conduct the meeting and Mike Burd, director of the Plinksters, will lead the singing.

In addition to Burd and his wife, the ukulele Plinksters include Becky Errington, Pam Moore, Lorraine Norton, Marcia Cook, Cindy Pooler and Elaine Wells. Lynne Riccardo and Liz Anderson are coordinating the potluck.

Bring a dish, salad or dessert to share, as the New Vineyard Historical Society celebrates the 21st year of its existence.

Good Shepherd summer fair

RANGELEY — The Church of the Good Shepherd will hold its annual summer fair from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at 2614 Main St.

Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu includes hot dogs, chicken salad, egg salad, iced tea and apple crisp.

There will be tables of odds and ends, baked goods and a cookie walk.

The African Team Ministries will have crafts, jewelry and soapstone for sale from East Africa.

Free summer sports camp

FARMINGTON — A free summer sports camp will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 22-25 across from the Farmington Fairgrounds.

The program for grades one to six will include ultimate frisbee, whiffleball, kickball, etc., as well as a Bible lesson. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

The camp is being sponsored by Farmington Baptist Church and Pastor Mike Bedford from College Park Baptist Church, Mobile, Ala.
