AARP chapter meets June 10
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, June 10, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street, South Paris.
Lunch will be served at noon and will feature ham, potato salad and fresh vegetables. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon on Friday, June 7.
The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Members are reminded of our monthly donations for the food pantry. Barbara Murphy from the Extension Office will present “What’s New in the Garden.”
Heywood Club plans yard sale
NORWAY — The Heywood Club will hold their annual community yard sale at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 8.
The event will take place rain or shine. All advertising will be done by the club.
Donations of items that are clean and work can be left at the clubhouse. No big appliances, furniture or clothes.

Woodstock Historical Society
WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Historical Society meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at their museum on Main Street, Bryant Pond.
The meeting will be followed by a program on the history of railroading in Woodstock, by Bethany Emerson and her father, Wayne Howe. Refreshments follow. Open to the public.
Harrison Historical Society
HARRISON — The Harrison Historical Society will celebrate its 50th anniversary from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9.
A scavenger hunt and tours of the museum and farmhouse will be held.
Homemade ice cream and cake will be served at 2 p.m.
Bring a memento to place in the time capsule, wear a 1960s outfit or drive up in a 1960s car or truck.
Bridge games for Alzheimer’s
OXFORD — The American Contract Bridge League will partner with the Alzheimer’s Association to celebrate The Longest Day to help honor those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.
The Oxford Hills Bridge Club will hold three games on Friday, June 21, at the Community Hall. The games will start at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
All levels of bridge will be accommodated. Lunch and dinner will be provided by local businesses.
All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
